The HY300 Pro addresses the two main complaints about the original: WiFi speed and processing power. The Allwinner H713 chip handles Android 11 without the occasional stutter the original exhibited during app switching, and WiFi 6 means 4K streaming from apps is genuinely smooth — no buffering pauses mid-movie.
Optical quality gets a bump too. While still native 720P, the lens assembly produces a sharper image with better colour accuracy, especially in skin tones. The difference is subtle on a 60-inch throw but noticeable at 80+ inches. BT 5.0 audio connectivity remains the same, and the 180° stand is identical to the original.
If you already own the standard HY300 and it works fine, the Pro is a lateral upgrade. But for new buyers, the Pro is worth the extra £15-20 for the smoother experience and better WiFi performance.
